(un)Invitational. The Merciless.

Puh.

It’s a great sense of relief completing the Merciless trio, in time as well!

I’ve mentioned it earlier but when I built this particular mini and the way it started to come together. I was struck by the similarities of this character.

That’s Ming the Merciless from Flash Gordon. So that gave me both the moniker and visual frame for my inquisitor.

Here he is, Jun Xing. Eccentric and radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor.

In my next post there will be some group pics and more fluffy background.

That’s great – that’s totally Ming! I remember seeing that movie in the theater when I was like four, and Ming scared the hell out of me. Nice work.

    • Cheers mate 🙂 yeah I really think Ming is an iconic figure so happy you see the similarities. That Ming is a supervillain is something I wanted to come across in my inquisitor. Dashing but cruel.

Great work finishing the last of your Invitational models! The similarities between your Inquisitor and Ming the Merciless are unmistakable (and wonderful!). Do you have any plans of making other members of the Inquisitor’s crew? I would love to see more. 🙂

    • Thank you Adam and I’m happy more people see the Ming connection (which was totally a coincidence) 🙂 he’s such a strong visual character, even now.

Yeah I will definitely do more characters for this warband. It needs more xenos! I also have the beginnings of another warband that I originally planned to enter in the Invitational but I postponed them because I didn’t have enough time.
