I’m chugging along and despite being behind schedule it’s going quite all right – here’s the Ogroid Thaumaturge!
I took a quite drastic departure with my thaumaturge conversion but I still think you can see the core of the original well enough and it shouldn’t be any confusion.

Stalking the intruders of the Tower the thaumaturge is both a powerful sorcerer but primarily a feral being.
Very fun miniature to build and to paint. As you see now – my adversaries will be a wall of tortured and possessed flesh.
I’m working on my first hero and the stalkers next.

Fantastic! This conversion is one of my faves so far mate, great improvement on an already impressive piece, and the painting is spot on. Nice one dude!
Thank you Alex ๐ it’s a great core piece and I actually hope we’ll see more of this brand of ogroids down the line!
What a beast! I can only echo what Alex has said โ in fact Iโd argue that this conversion is more in keeping with the wider Tzeentchian range than the original ogroid. I do quite like the original but it does look a little like itโs been down at the gym with the Khorne worshippers as opposed to this chap who comes across more as bloated with magical energies. Nice work!
(And indeed seeing more of these beasts as a full release for AoS would be simply amazing!)
Thank you! I like a more organic and soft look on my tzeentch as it displays the trauma of their blessings on the flesh a lot better. I could realistically see them as a faction of their own but the best would be a tzeentchian faction with the acolytes as the mainstay.
Yeah, a standalone faction would be magnificent but it would also be a big ask. An expansion of the Arcanites seems more likely, at least in the medium term. Looking forward to more Tzeentch, and the return of Slaanesh, but to be honest Iโve got enough else to paint in the meantime โ being drip fed releases is probably more sensible (at least thatโs what my bank account tells me…)
Yeah I guess and with the Specialist games returning it’s scary times anyway ๐
Fantastic work. I love the swapped head and hands, gives him a completely different look, but still fitting into his role in the game.
Thank you Joe ๐
Awesome stuff! I’ve included a link to this in our article about the model: https://alkony.enerla.net/english/the-nexus/miniatures-nexus/miniature/miniature-figure/humanoid-bovine-magic-user-in-1-56-scale-ogroid-thaumaturge-for-warhammer-age-of-sigmar-from-games-workshop-miniature-figure-review
