Vortapt IV. The Hit

the-hit

The first scenario is a feeling out process where the warbands reveal themselves and what they are capable of..

With the first deck of secret missions dealt the battle began.

The Oratio Champion is the target and must defend against the other warbands. Doubtless the giant has frightened the other warbands to gang together on them..

The Black Pox is more than just a name. It is a virulent affliction that the Crimson Queen has halted in her servants. Still it can come back from time to time and even before the Black Pox has made a move three of the pestigors lie down..wracked with horrible convulsions..this does not stop the others as they know the others will come along eventually.

The Blood Pact establish themselves in a far away corner, to feel things out. Trust isn`t worth much between the gangs of chaos..

Having the Crimson Queen in target, Weir snaps off a shot wounding her…he takes a brutal pummeling from the Butcher to assure the Black Pox that they haven`t turned on them..

The Black Pox attack the Oratio giant in force..it is truly an intimidating beast..

img_1186

While action is made the Blood Pact sends their hunting hounds up behind them, trying to get them as close as possible without being detected..

img_1185

The giant, despite being forced into the service of the Oratio is still a terrible foe to face as it lashes out in fear against the vile Pox..

img_1187

It even loses combat but as the threat of its masters arrive it hurls itself back at the Pox..the mutant sorcerer of the Oratio tries to assail the Pox with magic but it backfires and it wounds itself instead..

img_1189

This attracts the attention of the Crimson Queen..she aims directly for it and kills it with the aid of one of her pestigors. This was one of the Pox`secret missions..

img_1190

Uldun of the Blood Pact heeds the call of Blood coming from the Goremage and turns into an uncontrollable Bloodwolf..

img_1184

Feeling victory coming close the Pox yet again go against what they perceived as the biggest threat – the giant..and they finally manage to take it down..however the Pact now reveals their cunning plan as the Queen is brought low by the sniper the instant they dealt with the giant and then the hunting hounds leapt into action and took out the Oratio champion…the Hit was complete and the Pact was victorious..

What a great game! All hail the Blood Pact! One cannot overlook a trusty sniper rifle ๐Ÿ˜€

Great start! This has already lived up to expectations, also has set my brain buzzing with ideas. . .

That looks like it was a great game. Thanks for the write-up. The scenario looks to be a hard one for the defender (but nothing a true follower of Chaos wouldn’t be up for, he he).

I look forward to hearing more of the exploits of the Blood Pact. The injured sniper looks to have done well in the game. There is no arguing with a high powered rifle. ๐Ÿ™‚

Excellent stuff. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to show your work off.

  7. A great start with beautiful models and a fab board. Will be reading through the rest of the battle reports during the week. Seems you have gotten the Age of Imunda ruleset to work in a fluffy and cool way.
